The area of the former lake, now dried, is defined by a catchment basin water draining an area of about 110 Ha (1'10 km2) roughly bounded by the ridges of the Serreta, the hill Barra, sawing Horabona of the hill of El Prat del Raval, Febrer sawing, sawing la Creu, sawing el Gaig, Puig de la Devesa and the plateau of the Cross. Its natural drainage occurs at the northern end of the area between the ridge of Serreta and Pla de la Crosa, forming the birth of the stream of the lake.
